I chose to model my company after these core values because they reflect who I am and the journey that brought me here. I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs, miners, farmers, real estate developers, investors, politicians, a small town family making a big impact. I understood early on that success is not just about hard work; it’s about having a vision, staying true to your principles, and finding purpose in what you do. To me, the greatest purpose I could serve is helping other entrepreneurs in my community thrive through stewardship and strategic partnerships. In fact, I think the very definition of a community or economy could be expressed as a network of strategic partnerships or relationships working toward shared prosperity. In this environment and business, integrity is everything. It’s the foundation of trust, and trust is the currency of lasting relationships. That said, going out on your own as an entrepreneur takes an extreme amount of ambition. You have to believe in yourself and your vision, even when the path ahead is uncertain. As such, there are many many roads to failure, in my experience the only way to move forward comes from embracing the meaning of the work we do. When you find meaning in your work, it fuels your ambition and guides your integrity. It gives you the strength to overcome challenges and the clarity to make decisions that align with your values and vision. For example, there are those who think of money as an end in itself, while others see it as a tool to create value, build relationships, and make a positive impact or in other words they see it as a means not the end and in my experience, those two views of something so mundane breed certain characteristics fuel very different approaches to business and life. The meaning makes the impact, not the tools we use to create it. Therefore, I stand by the belief that ambition, integrity, and making meaning are not just values to aspire to; they are the pillars upon which I build my business and my life. They guide me in every decision I make and every relationship I cultivate. Through Meier Rife & Co, I aim to embody these principles and help others do the same.
